Building the Sublimator

Gather all of your materials and tools. If you’ve made the spud gun, you’re already familiar with how to work with PVC to make a backyard ballistic device. This might be a good time to review the section on working with PVC on pages 4–7. Remember all of the joints must be solid and air tight. Leaks will ruin your good work, so take your time.

Begin by cutting the 2-inch-diameter pipes and the 4-inch-diameter pipe to length.

Cement the 4-inch-diameter end cap to the 4-inch-diameter pipe. Cement the bell-shaped reducer fitting to the other side of the 4-inch pipe.

Cement the smooth end of the 2-inch cleanout fitting to the middle opening of the 2-inch-diameter tee fitting.

Connect the bell-shaped reducer to the 2-inch tee by cementing each to one of the 2-inch PVC pipes.
